Ahhhh… Nothing does the body better than a day off, right? Almost right! Aaron got in to the city this morning, and since there was hardly any traffic, he was here before 10:00 AM. It was such a relief to see him – I missed him terribly. If only Sophie and Sam could’ve made the trip. Oh well. We went for breakfast this morning at this great little diner. We enjoyed that, and then we walked around for a short while. There was a festival going on 7th Avenue, so we visited some of the vendors. It was a little chilly for us both, so after stopping in Saks 5th Avenue and this great shop called Anthropologie (LOVED the fashions – kind of vintage, which surprised me that I was drawn to them), we came back for a much needed nap. I iced the foot again – it is now making an odd noise/feeling as a try to move through flex to point. I am still resting it to the best of my ability, without letting it get completely stiff on me. It does appear that the swelling has gone down some – that’s a relief. So anyway, we found Blockheads for dinner (a fun Mexican restaurant) that had been recommended to me – in fact, it’s directly across the street from my apartment. Hmmm… We went strolling for a bit to work off dinner, and hit a couple shops – more traditional this time. I LOVE the Loft style – I probably shouldn’t go back. And Aaron found a great pair of jeans at the GAP. While not a terribly original brand, he got a great price and they look great on. On our way back to the apartment, we bumped into a couple friends from the show – how ironic. Just earlier in the day, I was telling him how it seems odd that in such a large town, so many people could still know each other – for example, people at home always talk about how the theatre crowd is rather small. It does seem that way here, too. Well, as long as you’ve been in the crowd for a period of time. So running into them – it seemed the right way to end the day! Not very productive today, but it felt good to relax. Tomorrow morning, I have my first costume fitting at Studio Rouge, and then I’m going to introduce Aaron to the subway!
