Day 14

Well, I started my final week in New York today.  It was a long day, too.  We had a lot of dancing/staging/staging within dancing going on today.  It was a productive day, I felt.  We had a lot of folks in and out today, as well.  For example, the creative team has been going between Broadway and Detroit for several days now, and today, we saw two of our dance captains from boot camp.  Randy also came over today to give us some more changes.  The desire to set everything in my body is strong; however, I have to be careful, because choreography is still changing.  And sometimes, it’s very minor details (which is almost worse than changing an entire step).  Anyway, the changes are great, even if they are subtle, but mentally I’m being challenged to keep it all together.  I think tomorrow we’re doing a run through for Walter Bobbie, so I hope that goes well.  I saw a lot of Act One today, which was just great!  What a talented cast – I’m so lucky to be a part of that, and furthermore, learning from these pros.  Wow!  I’m afraid to report that my day was not very exciting for blogging purposes…  Though we did learn a couple new dances today – the finale, mainly, and putting all of it together.  Scott and I (my partner throughout) had a lot of fun today.  So now, back at the apartment, I am listening to a great holiday album by Jeff Meegan (if you don’t know him, I highly recommend SEASON OF LOVE).  I know, I know – it’s early for holiday music (even though I’ve been singing it for weeks), but it’s so relaxing.  I had dinner (an uneventful bowl of beef pasta), and I’ve been entering payroll for a company (my other “job” on the side).  So with that all done, I’m leaning towards knitting some more this evening.  I am nearing the end of a hat I’m making for my nephew.  I’m ready to see the end of this project!  Ha!  It looks cool; it’s Colts inspired, of course!  Yes, the ice came back out for the foot – feeling different issues, now.  I think, though, that since I’m starting to get more mobility back, the pain/tenderness that I feel now is just from lack of being able to use my foot as I would’ve liked for a period of time.  Of course, that’s just my own doctoring.  Well considering that the best prescription, complete rest, isn’t going to be possible for some time, I just have to grin and bear it.  Oh – I saw a couple pairs of shoes today that we get to wear: a hot pink (yes, hot pink) pair of character tap shoes and a silver metallic pair of character shoes.  I LOVE IT!!  So that’s all I know today.  No more days off in NY, which is kind of a bummer.  I’ve gotten accustomed to being here; I think I’ll miss it.  Talk to you tomorrow!
