What a busy, busy week. I have to say that it has been exciting! We opened on Thursday evening, which felt great. This came after two previews; after the first preview, we met with our associate choreographer and got more choreography changes from Broadway. Believe me, having only a preview and then opening to get those changes in the body was a little nerve wracking. Boy, am I glad I did not have the platform dance in “Piano.” Poor boys. But everyone came together, and we were ready for opening. How exciting. Aaron came in for opening, which was great for him to see everything I had worked so hard on for the past month. He really enjoyed the show. He also brought Sophie and Sam, and they are getting along great here in the apartment. Aaron did leave for home this morning, but he left the doggies with me! We’ll see how well that continues to go – especially early morning potty trips. Ha! Some of his family came into town Saturday to see the show; my family comes into town Friday after Thanksgiving. It’s so great performing when I have people in the house! I have been developing a very nice friendship with one of the guys in the cast; we have so much in common, which is nice when you’re far away from home. It will be a relationship that I am confident will last far beyond the show. I am sorry that I have not kept up with the blog this past week, as the show keeps us very busy. We had two twelve hour days Monday and Tuesday, a preview Wednesday afternoon followed by a rehearsal Wednesday night, then a preview Thursday afternoon before opening Thursday night. So technically (including previews), we had 8 performances this week in addition to rehearsals. Crazy! Tomorrow is a much needed day off! Hope the start of your week goes great!
